Starting a Society
Become a ratified Desi Society, and join the 15+ Desi Societies right across the London. The are three rounds of applications per academic year:
01st Mar – 27th Apr
01st Dec – 27th Jan
01st Sep – 27th October
Desi Students Union supports over 15 societies that receive a range of support including funding, facilities, administration, banking, and legal services. See below to check if your society meets our criteria.

To start the application email societies@desisu.co.uk within the application round period. Our team will arrange a meeting, which allows us to get to know your committee and guide you through the registration process. The societies committee will then meet to decide if your society can be ratified. You will find out if your society has been accepted within 7 days after the meeting. If your application has been rejected you will have one week to appeal against the decision, starting from the day you receive our decision.
